Zero Commission: How Home Businesses Keep 100% of Their Earnings on Tijarah

If you cook, sew, teach or decorate from home, you have probably done the maths on the big platforms. A ₹600 order becomes ₹450 after commission. A ₹1,200 tuition package loses ₹300 to a booking fee. The platform brings customers, and then charges you for every one of them, forever.

What zero commission actually means

It means exactly what it says. Tijarah does not take a percentage of any booking, does not charge a per-lead fee, and does not add a service charge on the customer's side that comes out of your price. If a customer pays ₹2,500 for a thaal, ₹2,500 reaches you.

Payments run through Razorpay, so customers can pay by UPI, card or wallet, and you get a clear record for every order. If you prefer cash on delivery, that works too. The only deductions are the standard payment-gateway charges that apply to any online payment in India, and those are shown transparently before you accept a payout.

So how does Tijarah stay free?

Fair question. Tijarah is funded by optional sponsored listings: providers who want extra visibility for a launch or the wedding season can pay to appear higher in search for a while. It is opt-in, clearly labelled, and it never affects your reviews or your badges. Providers who never sponsor anything still get the full app.

We also don't sell advertising to outside companies, and we don't sell your data or your customers' data. That is a deliberate choice: an advertising business would eventually tempt us to change the rules, and the whole point of Tijarah is that the rules don't change on the people doing the work.

• Reviews that build. Because only real bookings can leave a review, a good record on Tijarah is something you own, not something a platform can reset.
• Private chat and saved locations, so customers can find you by distance and talk to you without exchanging numbers up front.

How to list your home business on Tijarah

1. Install the app on iPhone or Android and choose "Become a provider".
2. Verify your identity. Upload your Aadhaar and EJamat ID and confirm your phone number with an OTP. Most profiles are approved within a day.
3. Build your profile. Add a short description in your own words, five to ten photos of real work, and your prices or a starting-from figure. Profiles with prices get far more enquiries.
4. Set your service area. Choose the neighbourhoods you serve or how far you will travel, so you only get leads you can actually fulfil.
5. Share your link. Post your Tijarah profile in your family and mohalla groups once. From then on the profile does the reminding for you.

Who is already earning on Tijarah

Home caterers and tiffin services are the largest group, followed by tailors and rida makers, mehndi and beauty artists, tutors, and cake and dessert makers.
